Biography

“Experiencing a separation or divorce can be the most stressful time in a person’s lifeAs a family lawyer, my job is to work with you to outline realistic goals, to advise you on the steps towards resolution, and to help guide you through the process.”

Together with the highly skilled and experienced family law team at McKenzie Lake Lawyers, Greg will work with his clients to determine the best path towards resolution, whether that be through the court systems or alternative dispute resolution.

Prior to beginning his post-secondary education, Greg lived in Australia for a number of years where he worked in telecommunications. After returning to Canada, Greg completed his Bachelor of Arts at McMaster University in Hamilton, majoring in English Literature. Following the completion of his undergraduate education, Greg moved to London to pursue his Juris Doctorate degree at Western Law. While at Western, Greg was involved in numerous litigation competitions, such as the Walsh Family Law Moot as a competitor in 2017 and as the student coach in 2018. Greg also volunteered at the Elgin-Oxford Legal Clinic where he worked directly with litigants on various legal issues.

Greg had the benefit of beginning his legal career with McKenzie Lake Lawyers as a summer student and an articling student, where he worked closely with the family law team. Through his practice, Greg has gained experience in a number of areas relating to family law, which include parenting disputes, child and spousal support, and property issues. Greg has experience both in court and with alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation and arbitration. Greg has also negotiated and drafted separation agreements where parties wish to settle their matters amicably and outside the court system. Moreover, he has also had particular experience working under limited scope retainers and has assisted self-represented parties in preparing for their own court appearances and arbitrations.

In his spare time, Greg enjoys reading, playing board games, and cheering on the Blue Jays.
