Biography

“I believe in advocating for human values. Too often we see corporate bottom lines dehumanize the claims process reducing people to statistics and denials. It’s my job to advocate against that practice.”

Catherine has dedicated her practice to helping those who have suffered life changing injuries because she has seen, through a close family member’s struggles, the devastating effects of such injuries. Catherine has witnessed the physical and emotional toll it takes on the injured person and their families. Her job is to help put families back together after these tragic events.

Catherine’s passion for helping others is fueled by the injustices that injured victims and their families face. She believes in a results based practice that is built upon advocating for human values, fairness, and justice.
She is a strong advocate for others. She is proud of the work she has done and continues to do to help others through reasoned and definitive outcomes. Catherine is proud of the support she has provided to countless families facing some of their most difficult periods.

Outside of the office, Catherine is a mom, wife, dog mom, and wellness enthusiast. She has created a mental health podcast for lawyers and believes deeply in giving back to the community in which she lives and the professional community. In her pursuits she’s an advocate for women and children and believes firmly in advocating for their rights both inside and outside of a litigation context.

"In October 2014 I was in a motor vehicle collision and suffered a brain injury. After several months of rehabilitation and really not getting better, I contacted a law firm and was introduced to Catherine Shearer. She began investigating my case, confirmed others were at fault, she had me attend various medical specialists who helped determine my injuries and the long-term prognosis. At all times, she was sympathetic to my situation and took the time to explain in detail the different situations I would be involved in as my cognitive abilities had suffered. She always acted as a go-between with the insurance company so I would not have to deal directly with them. During the settlement meetings with the insurance company, Catherine provided coaching and support at all times, and did this in a very professional manner. As my settlement outcome was very satisfactory, I would say all of Catherine's efforts, diligence and skill showed her to be a very competent and knowledgeable lawyer. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her services to others"
