Family Law

Our family law lawyers apply an individualized approach to your case.

If you are facing a separation, divorce or custody issue, our team of family law lawyers, the largest in Southwestern Ontario, will provide strategy, advocacy and solutions in a confidential and compassionate environment.

No two family law cases are the same. Certain circumstances require aggressive advocacy and the utilization of the extensive range of orders available from the courts. On the other hand, there are situations where the client is better served by using a more private, informal and timely resolution process. We make an early assessment of your objectives and circumstances in order to create strategies that are uniquely tailored to your needs. The McKenzie Lake team is at the forefront of the alternative dispute resolution movement including mediation, arbitration and collaborative family law. These out-of-court techniques, effectively used, can allow separated couples and their children to move forward with their individual lives free of conflict and antagonism.

Alfred Mamo is the senior member of our family law practice group. In addition to advocating for family law clients for over 40 years, Alfred has influenced the development of the law and the improvement of delivery of legal services to the public in the family law court system. The majority of Alfred's time is now spent as a neutral expert conducting mediations and assisting parties and their lawyers in arriving at creative solutions that meet the needs of the family as a whole including those most vulnerable: the children.
