Biography

“I believe in healthy families after separation and divorce. Every day I work to ensure that spouses find a financial and parenting solution that keeps their children’s best interest in mind.”

During decades of representing clients in adversarial family law litigation, Alfred Mamo saw first hand the financial, emotional, and psychological devastation that the process causes families in Court.

Alf is now using that experience to assist those in the middle of a separation or divorce to achieve a fair and reasonable solution to their differences, focusing on the objectives and expectations of each spouse,  he is able to come up with a fair resolution often in just one day of mediation. In parenting cases, Alf often uses his knowledge of child development to assist the parents to come up with a plan that is informed by current literature on parenting in the best interests of the children after separation and divorce.

In addition to a busy family law mediation practice, Alf is highly sought after to arbitrate high conflict and significant high net worth cases when lawyers wish to opt out of the court system and have their clients’ issues resolved privately with a family law expert who acts as a private judge, conducts a hearing and renders a decision that is binding on the parties.

In addition to his extensive knowledge of the law, Alf is known for his compassion and appreciation of the client’s emotions.  He understands the frustrations and emotions associated with separation and divorce. Not only does he acknowledge the client’s feelings,  he also takes them in consideration when suggesting solutions.  His interest in every case is to come up with a win/win recommendation that focuses on each spouse’s ability to move forward with a financial and parenting plan free of legal costs and wrangling.

" Dear Alf, words cannot express how thankful I am for all the kindness and support you have given me. Your assistance, encouragement and guidance allowed me to overcome the most challenging obstacle that I have ever had to face. I am forever grateful. "
DEBORAH
" Dear Alf, I wanted to personally thank you for my mediation. I am so very pleased about the outcome and it would never have happened without your help."
LESLIE
" Alf, I would like to express my gratitude for your help in resolving our child related issues. It had been over three very frustrating years that I experienced delay after delay, motion after motion, but no resolutions. As you rightly pointed out, the litigation itself actually creates conflicts and adversity. Thanks to your professionalism and strong control on moving things forward, the parties had no excuses but to work on resolutions at the last minutes. Without your proactive process and industry reputation, the agreement would not have had happened. Thank you very much!"
PAT
" I want to thank you very, very much for your great advice, kindness and generous heart"
JR
" Thank you for your assistance in helping Diane reach a mediated settlement on Wednesday. I don’t think she ever anticipated that after over three years of aggravation and disappointment, a full and complete settlement could be reached in one day. I was struck by your positive approach during your initial discussion with the client. Your interest in her family, and how they were coping, your emphasis on the importance of focusing on the future, while not forgetting the past certainly resonated."
DS
" Dear Alf, Just wanted to thank you for your heroic efforts yesterday. I had zero expectations of getting to a resolution so your work was nothing short of miraculous"
