Biography

“The combination of my legal clinic experience with my accounting background makes me well equipped to help clients navigate the complexities of tax law while providing effective service adapted to clients’ needs.”

Zoe is part of the Tax Group with a practice focused on tax litigation. This includes assisting clients dealing with tax disputes at all levels of government, as well as representing CPA Plan on behalf of Chartered Professional Accountants in professional liability matters across Canada.

Zoe obtained their BMOS degree with an Honors Specialization in Accounting from Western University in 2019, followed by their JD from the University of Windsor in 2022, and was called to the Bar in 2023. Prior to joining McKenzie Lake, Zoe summered and articled at another full-service law firm in London, Ontario where they gained experience in a variety of litigation areas.

Zoe places importance on participation in the community and has participated in various clinics and organizations throughout the completion of their degrees. This includes Western’s Income Tax Clinic, Legal Assistance of Windsor, the Canadian Center for Housing Rights, and the Trans ID Clinic (through Pro Bono Students Canada). Zoe has been recognized for their contributions to the community throughout law school with the Aird Berlis LLP Award, Dean’s Excellence Award, Chief Justice Richard Wagner Award, and J.W. Whiteside Award.

Zoe’s legal clinic experiences have provided them with the insight and tools to understand and adapt to clients’ needs. At the same time, Zoe’s accounting degree and internships in tax at a major accounting firm have equipped them to help clients navigate the complexities of tax law.

Outside the office, Zoe enjoys lifting weights, speed-solving the Rubik’s cube, and playing with their cat Boseph.
