Paddles Up For A Purpose!

On May 28th McKenzie Lakers (aka Amy’s Avengers) had their first Rowbust Dragon boat lesson for the 8th annual Fanshawe Dragon Boat Festival June 8th & 9th. The team managed to get the boat moving pretty well and stay afloat with guidance from Captain Lillie Prevost, but the rowing coach nicely suggested that the team keeps plans for a second practice before the final event. Come out and support the teams and the cause and watch the excitement from the bleachers on the beach at fanshaweconservation.

Proceeds for this event are in support of the CIBC Access Cancer Therapies (ACT) Now Fund. ACT Now is an initiative that helps patients at London Health Sciences Centre’s London Regional Cancer Program pay for cancer treatments not covered by OHIP and that they could not otherwise afford.
