About the Behr DeckOver Class Action
Behr manufactures a line of premium resurfacing products known as “DeckOver,” available in smooth, textured, and extra textured finishes.
Behr’s DeckOver products are thick paint and stain hybrid products marketed as resurfacing DIY products. The Class Action alleges Behr knew that its premium DeckOver products were prone to prematurely peel, crack, bubble, flake, separate, deteriorate and cause damage to the property to which they are applied, but continued to market their deck/concrete resurfacing products as superior to other traditional deck paints and stains.
Case Status and Key Dates
June 9, 2026: An Order was issued by the Court for Certification and Approval of Notice Plan. The settlement hearing is scheduled for November 19, 2026. Further details will be provided.
How to Opt Out of the Settlement
If you wish to opt out of the proposed settlement, you must send a completed Opt-out form to the Claims Administrator via email, fax, mail, or courier no later than 11:59PM EST on October 14, 2026:

Who are the Class Members?
All persons who:
- Purchased in Canada and applied DeckOver, or paid for DeckOver to be applied, on a wooden, composite or concrete surface within Canada during the Class Period, defined as between March 1, 2013 to May 25, 2026; OR
- Owns a wooden, composite, or concrete surface within Canada to which DeckOver was applied during the Class Period.
