Meet & Greet with Fanshawe Co-Op and Paralegal Students

Yesterday, McKenzie Lake played host to 25+ Fanshawe Law Clerk and Paralegal students. Chief Administrative Officer Dianne Elliott welcomed the group and spoke briefly about the firm’s history with the Co-op program. Clerks from departments across the firm introduced themselves so that students could speak to specific practice clerks before or after enjoying an office tour and refreshments.

How important is a Law Clerk Co-Op experience? The Co-op program provides an opportunity for students to expand their knowledge through work-related experience, gain insight into what type of law they may want to specialize in after graduation and be exposed to different ways of working. For McKenzie Lake, co-op students having spent time with a team are part of the firm so they know about our culture and are trained in the basics. We have an early opportunity to make a good impression on the students and in-turn, recognize those outstanding students who might consider pursuing a full time role after their co-op. A win-win situation for all.

Thank you to all the #FanshaweCollege Law Clerk and Paralegal students who attended our offices today and all the McKenzie Lake staff who welcomed them.
