Delphi Ignition Switch Recall Class Action

This proposed class action is on behalf of all persons who, on February 7, 2014, owned one of the following vehicles:

The plaintiffs allege that GM and GMC were negligent in the design, manufacture and installation of the ignition switch in the above vehicles which was dangerous and hid this defect from their customers, drivers, passengers and the public.

In February 2014, GM and GMC revealed that the above vehicles contained ignition switch defects.

On April 26, 2006, GM changed the design of the ignition switch. But GM did not change the Identification Number of the ignition switch. This meant that GM knew before April 2006 of the defect in the ignition switch. But the defect in the ignition switch was not cured.

The statement of claim was issued on March 31, 2014.

Stoneridge Ignition Switch Recall Class Action

This proposed class action concerns the negligent and dangerous design, manufacture and installation of the ignition switch manufactured by Stoneridge Inc Pollak Engineered Products (“Stoneridge Ignition Switch”) in the vehicles named in the following chart:

In 2003 and 2004, GM changed the design of the Stoneridge Ignition Switch. But GM did not change the Identification Number for some of the Stoneridge Ignition Switches it ordered. GM also continued to assemble some of the Vehicles with the defective Stoneridge Ignition Switch. This means that GM knew before 2003 and 2004 of the defect in the Stoneridge Ignition Switch.

On June 30, 2014, GM and GMC revealed that the above vehicles contained ignition switch defects.

GM and GMC are aware of seven crashes resulting in injuries and deaths that were caused by this defective Stoneridge Ignition Switch.

The plaintiffs allege that GM and GMC were negligent in the design, manufacture and installation of the Stoneridge Ignition Switch in the above vehicles which was a dangerous defect.

Dalian Ignition Switch Recall Class Action

This proposed class action is on behalf of all persons who, as of November 24, 2014, owned one of the following vehicle

In August 2005, GM and GMC provided some of their employees, early, saleable vehicles to test drive and to report potential safety issues through the Captured Test Fleet report system as part of the launch of 2006 Chevrolet Impala and 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. GM and GMC received reports about the Dalian Ignition Switch’s torque performance being insufficient to resist unintended movement out of the Run position, and thereby causing moving stalls. Despite these reports, GM and GMC continued to assemble the vehicles with the defective Dalian Ignition Switch.

The plaintiffs allege that GM and GMC were negligent in the design, manufacture and installation of the Dalian Ignition Switch in the above vehicles, which was a dangerous defect. They allege that GM and GMC knew of this defect in the Dalian Ignition Switch since 2005.
