Law Clerk – Real Estate

Real Estate Law Clerk – Posting Date March 18, 2022

We have an exciting opportunity as a permanent full-time  Law Clerk in our rapidly growing Real Estate Department.   This role is heavily team-based and you will enjoy working independently and as part of a team.  Tasks will include but not limited to:

  • Preparing real estate transactions for closing on all aspects of residential deals
  • Ordering title and off-title searches, corporate searches and municipal reports
  • Ordering payout statements on sales and mortgage files
  • Finalizing reports  to clients and financial institutions
  • Following up on undertakings and outstanding items on files
  • Detailed file organization – paper and electronic filing
  • Maintaining effective bring forward system and managing deadlines
  • Drafting correspondence and reporting letters
  • Establish communication with the different stakeholders involved in the cases utilizing electronic and social media platforms in a professional manner
  • Provide consistent document preparation and administrative support
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to correspond effectively and respectfully with clients

We are looking for a candidate that can offer:

  • Completion of a college diploma in a law clerk, legal assistant or paralegal program or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
  • Knowledge, experience and skills in a board range of realty functions, including conveyancing, property tax and title searching
  • Knowledge and understanding procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage priorities
  • Proficient in Word, Outlook, Conveyancer/Unity and Teraview
  • Experience with a Document Management System
  • Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with clients and other professionals
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
