Law Clerk – Class Actions

Class Actions Law Clerk – Posting Date March 18, 2022

We have an exciting opportunity for you as a permanent full-time Law Clerk in our Class Actions Department.   This role is in a heavily team-based environment and you will enjoy working independently and as part of a team.  Tasks will include but not limited to:

  • Ensure rigorous follow-up of all class action cases
  • Manage deadlines
  • Paper and electronic classification of documents
  • Assist with pleadings, motion materials and notices to class members
  • Establish communication with the different stakeholders involved in the cases utilizing electronic and social media platforms
  • Preparing charts, chronologies and summaries of documentary evidence
  • Provide consistent document preparation and administrative support
  • Knowledge of ProLaw, Excel, DMS and Primafact an asset
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to correspond effectively and respectfully with clients

We are looking for a candidate that can offer:

  • A post secondary education and experience in civil or commercial litigation is a plus
  • A certificate or diploma from a recognized community college (legal assistant, paralegal or law clerk program)
  • Knowledge and understanding of Court filing procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage priorities
  • Proficient in Word, Outlook, Excel and Primafact
  • Experience with a Document Management System
  • Ability to communicate with clients in French an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with clients, class members, lawyers and court offices
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
