Court of Appeal Ruling On Limitation Period Significant

A recent decision in the case Winmill v. Woodstock (Police Services Board), where McKenzie Lake lawyer Kevin Egan represented the plaintiff and appellant, focuses on the limitation period for an excessive force claim against the police.  The Court of Appeal determined the limitation period started running at the end of the underlying criminal proceeding.     

Writer Alex Robinson of Law Times reports that “some lawyers are saying this decision represents a big shift in law.”
