We are pleased to announce that a Settlement has been reached and approved by the Courts in this matter.
The Settlement applies to all residents of Canada who owned or leased a 2011-2019 Hyundai Sonata; 2013-2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport; and/or, a 2014-2015, 2019 Hyundai Tucson equipped with a Theta II 2.0-litre or 2.4-litre gasoline direct injection engine.

We are pleased to announce that a Settlement has been reached in this matter.
The Settlement applies to all residents of Canada who purchased or leased a 2011-2019 Hyundai Sonata; 2013-2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport; and/or, a 2014-2015, 2019 Hyundai Tucson equipped with a Theta II 2.0-litre or 2.4-litre GDI engine.
The Court will hold a settlement approval hearing on February 23, 2021 to consider whether or not to approve the Settlement.

On June 10, 2019 a class action was brought on behalf of all persons who purchased or leased a 2011-2019 Hyundai Sonata; 2013-2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport; and/or a 2014-2015, 2019 Hyundai Tucson equipped with a Theta II 2.0-litre and 2.4-litre gasoline direct injection engines.
This class action alleges that the Settlement Class Vehicles suffer from a defect that can cause engine seizure, stalling, failure and/or fire.
