Biography
“Spending time in remote and wild places has clarified what is important in my own life. As your lawyer, I will focus on understanding what is important to you and making a plan, together, to protect what matters.”
Megan prioritizes building trust with her clients, whether she is drafting a marriage or cohabitation agreement, or assisting clients who are separating from their partners. Every family law file is both unique and personal, and Megan understands the need to have reliable and compassionate legal counsel.
Megan’s objective is to make navigating family law matters as smooth as possible. She works closely with her clients to build a strategy for resolution that is personalized to their situation, prioritizing the use of cost and time-effective processes such as negotiation, mediation, and arbitration, before turning to the court system.
Megan also practices in the area of fertility and reproductive law, assisting clients navigate the complicated surrogacy and/or donation process. She provides advice to intended parents as well as to donors and surrogates.
Megan began her legal career with a large international firm in Toronto, before joining a Toronto-based boutique practice for several years. After relocating back to her hometown of London, Megan was delighted to join the family law team at McKenzie Lake.
Megan has a deep love of outdoor adventure and spends her spare time rock climbing, running, and planning her next back-country hiking or portaging trip. She is particularly drawn to northern Canada and anywhere with mountains. Megan also enjoys cooking and can often be found in her kitchen trying to create healthier versions of baked goods.
