Linda Smits practices labour & employment law and commercial litigation. Having spent several years working as in-house Legal Counsel for a corporation with a national presence, Linda is accustomed to providing practical, business-minded advice in real-time regarding a range of employment matters and commercial disputes.

Linda is a specialized resource for business owners and HR professionals to consult on employment-related issues, including contracts and restrictive covenants, workplace policy development and implementation, accommodation requests, and discipline and terminations. Additionally, Linda regularly represents employers in all aspects of employment litigation, including wrongful dismissal matters, human rights claims and restrictive covenant disputes.

Linda also advocates on behalf of clients in a range of commercial disputes. Linda has experience with a wide variety of matters, including commercial torts, professional liability claims, shareholder disputes and debtor-creditor matters. In every case, Linda tries to make use of alternative dispute resolution tools when appropriate to ensure that her clients achieve the most commercially sound results possible.

Outside of work, Linda has volunteered her time with various charitable and not-for-profit organizations. Currently, Linda serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Alzheimer Foundation London & Middlesex.
