Biography
“Lives can be profoundly altered at time and in ways that people least expect. As an advocate, I understand that each of my clients has an inspiring story of survival, one that needs to be told with compassion and integrity, to achieve justice for the harms caused by others.”
For over 24 years, Judith’s practice has been restricted to advocacy for people who have suffered life-altering harms, including serious injuries, birth trauma, wrongful death, and more recently, privacy and human rights violations. The three principles of her practice are Service, Integrity, ResultsTM.
Judith tirelessly advocates for her clients to achieve fair and timely compensation. Judith believes that her clients should focus on their health and recovery, and to that end, she works with the best medical, rehabilitation, and other professionals in the field to get her clients the care and help that they need after suffering an injury or loss. Judith and her team of highly experienced law clerks believe that their clients should not go through this process alone.
Judith is honoured to be regularly selected by her peers for inclusion in Best Lawyers in Canada in the field of Personal Injury Litigation, as well as being Lexpert Ranked as Consistently Recommended as a leading practitioner of the Personal Injury Bar. Judith is a Certified Specialist in Civil Litigation. Other recognition includes the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association Women’s Caucus Award (2011), the American Association for Justice International Trial Lawyer Leadership Award (2010), the Peter Perlman Service Award (2017), and being inducted as a Fellow into the honourary society of the Litigation Counsel of America in 2017.
Judith holds a strong belief in giving back both to the profession and the community. Judith is a Past President of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (2009-10); a former Governor on the Board of Governors for the American Association for Justice (2006-2013); past director for the Advocates Society (2012-2015); and a frequent speaker in the areas of personal injury litigation, advocacy and practice management at various legal associations in Canada and the United States. As part of her community involvement, she is a safe cycling advocate and Past Chair of the Share the Road Cycling Coalition of Ontario. Over the years Judith has also been involved in many community and arts organizations, including Orchestra London and the Metropolitan Opera.
When Judith is not advocating for her clients, you will either find her out cycling and promoting safe roads; behind the lens of her camera doing photography for her studio (Capricorn Studio); or taking long beach walks with her husband and two greyhounds Rene and Bryn. Judith and her husband Jason are also greyhound foster parents, helping those lithe racers transition from the race track to their pampered retired life.
