Apple iPhone “Touch Disease” Class Action

Apple iPhone (“Touch Disease”) Class Action

The iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus were released in Canada in or about September 2014.  Shortly thereafter, consumer reports surfaced indicating that the touch screen on these specific iPhones may become unresponsive to the users’ touch.  Once the touch screen is unresponsive, the Defective iPhones become virtually unusable.  The defect has been dubbed the “Touch Disease” in online reports.  On or about November 17, 2016, Apple launched a repair program specifically for the iPhone 6 Plus models.  However, the repair program continues to charge consumers for the repair despite the fact that the issue stems from a manufacturer defect. To date, no repair program has been launched for the iPhone 6 models.
