Biography

A member of the Canadian and Ontario Bar Associations, Mavis was called to the Bar in 1984 after graduating with an LLB with distinction from The University of Western Ontario. Prior to that, Mavis obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts.

Specializing in commercial litigation with an emphasis on construction law, professional liability, and property related disputes, Mavis also has an extensive commercial leasing practice and is the author and editor of Williams & Rhodes Canadian Law of Landlord and Tenant (sixth edition) and the Annotated Ontario Landlord and Tenant Statutes, which have been published annually since 1997.
