Biography
Mike’s educational pursuits have seen him travel across the country, but since being called to the bar in 2011 he’s found a home in London and at McKenzie Lake where he specializes in commercial litigation and class actions.
He graduated with a B.A. in psychology from the University of Calgary in 2000, and a Master’s degree in clinical psychology from Queen’s University in 2003. Mike then spent several years in clinical practice, including conducting forensic assessments and providing psychotherapeutic treatment services to a wide range of clients.
Mike obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Western Ontario in 2010, where he volunteered at Western Law’s Community Legal Services clinic and at the Dispute Resolution Centre. He also excelled at competitive mooting as a member of the Niagara International Law moot team.
Currently a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Middlesex Law Association, Mike joined McKenzie Lake in January 2012. He has experience in all phases of the litigation process, including those issues unique to the field of class actions.
Mike loves to spend time with his wife Lisa and his son Nolan. His interests include golf, hockey, mountain-biking, and travelling. He also enjoys doing his own home renovations.
He is currently looking to get involved as a committee or board member for an organization that’s dedicated to promoting mental health in the London area.
