Biography

As Chief Information Officer and Director of Marketing, Laurie leads the planning and execution of the firm’s strategic technology and marketing plans.

Laurie’s dual role allows her to initiate technology changes to improve client experience and drive innovation.

With more than 30 years supporting the legal community, Laurie still enjoys exploring emerging technology and being a change rumbler. Leading a team of dedicated professionals, they support all facets of information technology. Whether writing, speaking or acting as a mentor, sharing her experience and expertise to help others achieve their goals is key. Honored with the International Legal Technology Association’s Professional Services Champion Award for innovative work done in the Social Media arena in support of the practice of law, this award confirmed her ability to deliver innovative solutions to support the business of law.

Outside her responsibilities at McKenzie Lake, Laurie takes an active role in the community. Laurie recently completed a two year term as a member of the Board of Directors for the London Chamber of Commerce. Prior to that, she was the Board Chair for Canadian Women in Communications (WCT), Southwestern Ontario region from 2015-2019 and formerly Vice-Chair. In March 2018, Laurie was recognized by WCT with the Leadership Excellence WCT Leader Award.

When not supporting our community, Laurie enjoys spending time at yoga and travelling or just reading a book – paper not Kindle!
