Biography

Erin has been with McKenzie Lake since 2010, articling in 2010-11 and being named an associate in July 2011. Called to the Bar in 2011, Erin practices Family Law exclusively. While litigation is a large part of Erin’s practice, she is also training in Alternative Dispute Resolution, and private negotiation and mediation are tools that she does not hesitate to utilize in appropriate situations.

Erin did not follow the usual path to the practice of law. She graduated with an Honours B.A. in Radio and Television Arts from Ryerson University in 2006, during which time she interned at Canadian networks such as the CBC and CTV, as well as several private production companies. Erin then earned her LL.B. at the University of Birmingham, UK, where she graduated with Honours in 2008.

Erin has a strong history of community involvement, currently serving as the co-chair of Bikes & Barrels, a weekend cycling event from Fort Erie to Niagara-on-the-Lake, which raises funds for cancer research. She is also involved with My Sister’s Place, a local support centre for homeless and at-risk women. Erin also enjoys playing volleyball, racquetball, skiing, travelling, and is new music enthusiast.

Erin is a member of the Middlesex Family Law Association, the Middlesex Law Association, the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, and Law Society of Upper Canada.
